If you are on regular medication on a long-term basis, you may be allowed to have a number of repeat prescriptions without being seen, although you will need to be reviewed at least once a year. You can order your repeat medication by:
- Signing up for Online Services - the easiest, safest and most convenient way.
- Contacting one of the local pharmacies to request prescriptions on your behalf.
- Ticking the items required on the right hand side of the order form from your last repeat prescription and bringing it to the practice during practice opening hours.
- Telephone the Prescription Line - 01262 423460 (from 1 April 2019) between the hours of 1030-1230, Monday-Friday.
Please allow at least 2 working days (Mon-Fri) for prescriptions to be processed by the practice.
Collecting Your Prescription
- Electronic Prescribing: if you sign up with a local pharmacy for electronic prescribing, your prescription will go electronically to your nominated pharmacy of choice. (There are some exclusions for a small number of medications).
- Local pharmacies operate a collection service - speak to the pharmacy of your choice.
- In person at the practice. If you would like someone to collect prescriptions on your behalf you will need to sign an authorisation form which are available from reception.
If you, or someone you care for, use the same medicines regularly, you may be able to benefit from repeat dispensing. This means you won’t have to visit the surgery or make an appointment to see the doctor or practice nurse every time you need more medicine. Talk to your doctor, local pharmacist or practice nurse to find out more about repeat dispensing. You will still need to have your medication reviewed at least once a year
Due to the very high number of prescriptions processed it is difficult to process urgent requests. Please help us by ensuring you leave adequate time, at least 48 hours, before you run out of medication particularly around holiday periods.
